THE EFFECT / UV + WLED

The wood was already strange enough.

The root was already doing most of the visual work, so the electronics were not allowed to turn it into a plastic lamp with a wooden excuse. Invisible UV-reactive ink draws details that disappear under ordinary light, while phosphorescent powder keeps parts of the surface glowing after illumination. An ESP controller running WLED supplies changing colour from inside the structure and lets the twisted branches remain the main event. It glows, pulses ominously and accepts firmware updates, which is quite enough responsibility for a piece of wood.
