Big Floral Jewelry Box
A large jewellery box wrapped on five sides in layered floral panels, because one decorative lid was clearly insufficient.
THE PATTERN / FIVE SIDES
Decoration became the structure.
Most jewellery boxes decorate the lid and let the other sides quietly hold it up. This one gives the top, front, back, left and right panels their own laser-cut floral drawings. Layered wood creates enough contrast for the dense leaves and flowers to remain readable, while the outer panels become part of the structure instead of applied decoration. The repository still contains the five panel drawings, so the pattern is documented more thoroughly than the assembly. Six finished views survive on the site. They show every side doing its share of the unnecessary work.
